i have a beautiful christmas cactus(3-4years old)given to me from my father... and it bloomed beautifully this past christmas for me for 1st time    howver i went out of town not expecting a freeze (Texas) and the temp dropped below freezing for several nights. when i returned it looked like limp asparagus with fuschia tips drooping down sides of my pot :(  what do i do to save it?   my father had grown it from branches of hisown cactus  before he died last year. needless to say i dont want it to die.  Can i save it?

You can start by heating some milk (2%) in a saucepan and pour the now lukewarm milk at the base of the cactus then gently wrap the base of the cactus  you will need to change out the newspaper every 3 to 4 days and apply the milk treatment at around 2 oz milk with each application, very 2 - 3 days, you should see a remarkable difference after the two week mark
