We have a grafted apple tree with 5 types of apples. This is the third year we have had it and it starts out with small green apples and the worms are already making their way into the center of the apple. When and what do we spray the tree with?

You have to start spraying apple trees while they are dormant. Ortho has the best sprays and your local lawn & garden store is the place to start. You may be able to save some of the fruit if you get a good spray and do it tomorrow.  Spray about every two weeks until harvest. Never when it is windy or when it is going to rain.  Unfortunately the bugs appreciate the fact that we don't want to use pesticides.

Another thought is to spray it yourself. But if he will do the job, put it on his calender for regular maintenance and make applesauce out of this years. After you strain out the bugs, the sauce is just as good.  Makes great apple butter too.

I had to dig my own hole to put up a sign recently and to put in fence posts. I am 63. Be safe stay well. I had waited a few weeks for my husband, now if just appreciate I have him and do my own thing.

after the sun passes............use that gray tape and use the sticky side out......and have someone help you....go around the tree and get it back to the starting point do that about 3 times and don't leave any gapes from them to get away.  mix up 2 teasp of liquid hand soap and 1 qt water & put into sprayer you may need to apply....if you see a whole nest of them use cooking spray with a straw and go threw each lining....they usually have 3 lining per nest.  the alcohol in the spray kills them without using chemicals.

Spring is here, still a little chilly, but when it's 50 degrees it's time to use dormant oil.................use the spring time mix up to the bud stage........once the bud opens I only spray the trunk.  In the fall when the leaves fall off.................do the fall time mix........
