How do I keep my burning bush to keep leaves on it and turn red

This year the bushes were full and green , when it started to change weather a little, not fall yet here, the leaves jut came off and harly nothing is there.  Why don't they stay on the bush and turn red???

please help, I would like to keep them.

The change in weather fooled the shrubs.  You didn't do anything and you can't do anything about the weather.

Here in Northern California the pistachio trees are turning bright red and yellow (yes we have fall colors too!) which generally doesn't happen until late October.  with us it was 10 days of over 100 degree temperatures followed by some evenings in the low 70's.  The trees think it is fall already.
