Something is eating the leaves on my hosta plants. What should I do?

I have many varieties of hostas and all of the leaves have holes in them or are gone. Some of my plants have been eaten almost all of the way down to the ground. What cn I do? They are perfect in our shaded area. Thanks!

You could make up a spray bottle of water and 1 teasp of dish detergent shake and spray all the leaves after the sun goes down....try to get underneath the leaves.  This is the safest thing to use.  I am thinking that deer might have eaten your plants....put 2 or 3 drops of hot sauce to that soapy mix.....they will eat anything.  After a rain, spray again.
