Why do leaves dry off and fall off an indoor ficus tree?,

Was given the tree ,the person had it for 15yrs , its a pretty big tree ,I dont know what Im doing wrong , will appreciate any advice.....Thank you in advance Essie

A Ficus also known by many other names loves sun and water (not soggy).  take away any of these and the plant will let you know something is wrong.

The shedding of leaves is a natural part of a ficus life cycle.  You mentioned that you have had this ficus for a short time.  Another reason for the dropping leaves could be that the tree is simply adjusting to a new environment.  You could check for insects, but it is most likely just a feature of the ficus tree.

they love sun.......like the water to drain right thru........maybe it's not getting enough sun or it's too close to a heat register.....something is different with than the original placement of this plant.  Maybe that room that it is in is too hot for it....or too cool for it.
