Yes zuccini is edible when it large. Something to keep in mind is that it is harder to cut when you are preparing it. The seeds are larger when the plant is more mature, so if they are not removed before preparing they maybe more noticeable in the meal.

Hope this helps

I am a vendor at a Farmer's Market, and have found that some people do prefer the smaller zucchini, but some prefer the larger, as we do take a few to the market. I inquired how they fixed it - one interesting answer was that she cut it lengthwise and scooped out the seeds, then she grilled it over coals, face down for about 5 minutes, making sure it doesn't burn. I've been too busy to try this, but she loves it.

I wash it good....carefully cut it long ways take a big spoon and take out all the seeds......get some olive oil and garlic.........brown that....dump it in tomatoe sauce that is cooking on the stove......then chop up the squash and add it to the oil....saute that and chopped onions and chopped peppers.............and throw it into the sauce and let it finish cooking slowly.......I cook rice or noodles...couple of meatballs or sausage in the sauce.......make some iced tea or iced coffee and a piec of fruit.....and that's a complete meal
