Why is a raccoon digging tons of holes in my yard?

I woke up this morning to about 30 small, medium, an two large holrs in my back yard. Theres a rabies scare going on in my area, an because this is the first time theres everbeen any holes at all; beside from neighborhood cats, I just wanted to be sure it wasnt a sign a rabid behavior.

I don't know much about critters like racoons, but racoons or skunks could be after grubs in the lawn.

Racoons eat June bugs and crub worms. Let them do their thing and your lawn will be crub worm free!

They are after the grubs............if you treat for grubs with milky spore they will go away to someone else's yard.
