I did see an article today online how to do this carefully.

it was in regards to a Brazilian Pepper, as they are not welcome in the

gardens of Florida, but was brought here, as used as "Holly" in homes.

I was looking at a Florida Universtiy Site for information and may hve been there,

They talked of making sure to get the root ball and dispose of with guidance from the city if in FLorida, as it is considered a major plant pest.

good luck.
Oh my this sounds like a big project...........you need someone who knows how to notch a tree and take out a wedge like a V sideways and then go to the other side and take it down to the ground those berries all need to be picked up or they will grow another tree....I suggest that before you cut this down that you cut your grass so that you can see the berries........then after that....you need someone with a big tractor and cut a notch again in the 6 ft tree and chain it twice and have the tractor pull the whole root out of the ground.....................spray that hole with herbicide and wear the proper old clothes, mask, hat, gloves and goggles.  Those berries are going to be a problem.  If you have a professional tree cutter come, he would know how to do this without any problem.  These trees are not good neighbors of home owners.  Are you allowed to burn anything there in the winter?  Maybe a good place for a fire pit to burn any residue of roots.  If you use a pro he can get rid of the mess for you.
