How do I get rid of water lettuce ?

I have an acre and half pond that is being over run with water lettuce. Need help!!!

wonder if any of the fish tank stores would buy it...........could have friends over and pull them out..have a lettuce pulling party....they keep the water cool and clean.....I would be afraid of using anything especially if fish & frogs and other wildlife come there.  any way to get in a boat and pull them in and take them over to your wooded area for wildlife to eat.

It does not survive the winter unless your water does not freeze.....some suggest Koi that eat them up..............Koi need deep water so they don't freeze this might work for you.  you did not mention what kind of fish you have, but I am sure you could see them to a place that sells fish for fish tanks.  I know in Philadelphia Pa, I had to buy it every year.  The water lettuce has real long roots on it...pull out so much every day  I wonder if water lillies might crowd them out...............
