A once healthy rhubarb patch is now thin and spindly.  It used to provide five family members and four neighbors with enough rhubarb for the season and some in the freezer.  What nutrients should I be giving the rhubarb to revive it?

Do this:  Mix 1/2 cup of baking powder (Not Soda) with 1/2 gal. of spoiled milk, and 2 oz. of sugar; pour this mixture on the soil around the plants (do not till in), in the morning, and allow it to soak in naturally.  Do not water you plants with the mixture on the ground.  Two applications around 4 days apart should do the trick.  After the each application wait at least 12 hours before watering yor plants.  You should see a remarkable change within 3 weeks. -Birdy

don't let the flowers grow, cut them back to the ground as they take away from the roots.  1st year don't take, 2nd year a few 3rd year harvest 8 to 10 weeks........ph should be 5.5-7.0, early spring when snow is just melting put composted horsemanure and lime.  Happy summer.
