How do I get rid of worms defoliating pecan trees?

We have noticed an army of worms similar to tent worms or small catepillars, but with no tents, investing neighborhood pecan trees in Montgomery, Texas. We want to take immediate action, but not sure what to do. We ar eafraid that in a matter of days the trees will be bare of leaves. Only seem to be in the pecan trees.

The only thing that you can savely spray when it is NOT 90 degrees.........is after the sun is down and the tree cools off is 2 tablespoons dawn in 1 qt tap water and spray.................spray the trunk.................spray the ground..................in the FALL when all the leaves have dropped...............use a dormant oil spray......................spray again in early spring up to the bud stage, when the bud open, stop spraying them only spray the trunk.................this smothers them.....................but you have to stop because of the bees for polunation...................plant some flowers to draw bees to your trees.........................
