How do I keep ants off of my peonies

I have three beautiful peonies and have two problems with them....two keep getting powder mildew and I can't bring the blooms inside  because they're always covered with ants.  
Any suggestions on keeping off the ants?

I WAS TOLD THAT THE ANT TICKLE THE PLANT TO HELP IT BLOOM!!!!  NOT ONE BUT 2 PEOPLE TOLD ME THAT....

ants are required to open the blooms, DO NOT keep them off, the blossoms are so tight they can not bloom without the ants biting into them and helping the flowers to bloom.

float them in cold water in a bucket outside and let the water run off.............the ants don't like water.  The ants help the flowers open, don't spray anything that will kill the buds.
