We had a rainy, rather warm spring for Maine.  Soil is clayey but this has not stopped them from blooming previously. I plan to dig them all up and replant only the ones that bloomed.  Is this all I can do? The nursery lady said she had another identical complaint. She thought it was the wet sprimg. One of the bulbs was definitely mushy but others looked all right from my inexperienced view. Might they bloom next year?

An iris rhizome blooms only once. The new rhizomes that sprout from it to spread the plant will bloom, but the origional rhizome has had its season of glory.
Sounds like they don't like the soil...............If the spot is sunny, maybe digging them up and changing the clay soil to include better soil and some sand and bone meal work with gloves........and replant them in the fall.................I would plant them all, they should do better in the spring...keep pulling the weeds around them and I use mulch around them to keep the weeds down.  They don't like to be too deep.
