Bark on trumpet bottom of tree is off what can I do for it so it will not die ?

On the bottom of my Trumpet tree the bark as peeled off I want to know if it will live & be OK with bark missing on hafe the trunk . The tree is about 4 ' tall

Sounds like you may of had a visit from a rabbit............they have a tree repair spray called Spectricide tree spray available at Walmart & lowe's....I think I saw it also at Home Depot.  Shake it good and spray it.  Use a needle to clean out the sprayer for next time.  I use it for our fruit trees when the deer scrape it or rabbits take a bite.
