If worms are inside the apple it usually is where the seeds are....you could cut all of the center out and make applesauce.....keep the skins on for color....scrub them real good..........after the tree has dropped it leaves you need to spray dormant oil in late fall............and again in the spring......up to the bud comes on the tree.....then I only spray the trunk. Read the directions carefully, wear long old clothes, mask, hat, gloves and goggles. Keep children & pets away until dry. Do not spray if it is going to rain. Do not spray if it is windy.
